Basic First Season Outfit

Manolito's outfits are both more varied and more consistent than the other primary cast members.  His basic outfit remains virtually unchanged for the first three seasons, with only subtle changes in the fourth.  On the other hand, among the men, Mano is offered the most opportunities to dress up, dress down, or appear in a variety of disguises throughout the series.  His basic outfit includes a gold shirt, a red bandana, a brown, leather-trimmed jacket, grey pants with a side stripe, an ivory-handled gun and holster set, and his black, silver-trimmed hat.  Outdoors he nearly always wears gloves, but his hat is more often hanging around his neck than worn on his head.

The Shirt
Mano's shirt for the first two seasons is gold with a small grey diamond pattern.  It is usually seen under his brown jacket, but in a few scenes we get to see the shirt without the jacket.

The Jacket and Bandana

Mano's jacket is his signature clothing article.  It is very distinctive and in the first three seasons he is rarely seen without it.  It is a short bolero-style jacket with leather lapel trim and leather trim above the wrists.  This trim has a circular pattern that appears to have been tooled into the leather.  The jacket has a maroon-trimmed left chest pocket that matches the maroon bandana. The bandana appears to have a dark, contrasting paisley print to it but since we don't see it unfolded, it's hard to know for sure.  Mano exhibits very little variety in his bandana use, wearing it rolled and tight around his neck with a simple knot in the front.

The Hat

Mano's hat is a black, Spanish-style hat, short with a wide brim.  It has a shiny black leather band studded with large silver medallions.  This hat remains with him for the entire series, but where the other men are not often seen outdoors without their hats on, Mano usually wears his hat strung around his neck rather than on his head.  In many scenes Mano is the only one NOT wearing his hat.

The Pants

Mano's pants are also distinctive, but hard to get a good shot of close enough to show them well.  They are actually striped with a lighter and darker gray stripe.  A tan band, that is probably leather, trims the front pockets and continues down the side of the leg.  This band has some sort of circle decorations on it similar to the circles on the leather trimming of his jacket.

The Holster Set

Mano has the flashiest gun and holster set of any of the men.  It has a large copper-colored buckle with the Montoya "M" on it.  The belt itself is a substantial one of black leather and the holster is shiny black leather with gold or brass-colored trim.  His pistol has a distinctive ivory handle and is long enough to protrude through the bottom of the holster.  He tends to wear his holster high, like Buck, rather than slung low on the hip like John.

On the Rough Side
Mano's hair never changes much in style or length, but he does appear unshaven in several episodes.  In "Young Blood" he seems to have grown a substantial beard.  This is also the only episode I know of where he appears with his hair wet (and his outfit as well).

Dressed Up and Dressed Down

Mano usually cleans up a bit for dinner, sometimes with just a dress shirt and tie under his regular jacket, and sometimes in a whole dress suit.  He has a light grey dress suit with light stitching on the lapel and a darker dress suit with contrasting dark stitching on the lapel. In the Terrorist" Mano appears in bedroom attire which seems to be a pair of light-weight peon pants over which he puts on a checkered maroon robe.  This is the only episode I recall that we see this robe.  In "Joyful Noise" he appears in his pink long johns.

Special Outfits
Mano seems to have more opportunities than any other character to disguise his identity one way or another.  In the first season he appears as a priest, as a confederate soldier, and as a peon.  This peon look is very similar to his bandido outfit he wore in the pilot, but neither the vest nor the shirt are quite the same.
