Basic Third Season Outfit |
|
The third season has Buck
using a dark colored scarf or bandana exclusively - not
counting the checkered napkin he wears to eat, of
course. His elaborate knot-tying, while still
creative, is more subdued with the exception of "Auld
Land Syne" where he seems to have outdone himself tying
together multiple scarves in a variety of knot patterns.

For the first time in the
series that I am aware of he is shown out riding without a
scarf at all in "To Stand for Something More", and in
"Friends and Partners" he wears it on his head. |

His hair is
darker than in the first two seasons. Like Blue
and Mano, he appears in "Time of Your Life" at the end
of a trail drive with several days beard growth, shown
below.

Buck's hat
remains the same throughout the third season although it
may be adorned with a variety of feathers and beads in the
back. |

Buck appears twice in
his underwear during the third season, once when he is sleeping
with Mano at their cabin in "Friends and Partners", and once when
he stops by in his union suit to chat with Blue in "To Stand for
Something More". The latter is by far the more interesting
rendition of the two. The scene below is supposed to be
after supper when most of the household has retired for the night
so the fact that he is in his underwear should not be unusual.
Rather, it is the accessories that make this costume remarkable.
He is also wearing, his hat, his gun belt and holster, his boots,
his ammo arm band, and his leather gloves while he prepares to
dine on a late night snack of beef jerky. No explanation is
ever given for this assortment of items. Oddly enough,
the scarf, which he sleeps in above, is missing. |
