The High Chaparral
Nevada Day Parade and
Western Festival
Carson City, Nevada
October 2005

The Nevada Day Parade and Western Festival was held in 2005 on October 29th in Carson City, Nevada.  There were some 200 floats entered and the High Chaparral/Bonanza float took third place overall, first among private entries.  It took months of planning and work to assemble the forty-foot long float.  It was a tribute to the work of David Dortort, with one half devoted to Bonanza and the other half featuring The High Chaparral.  They received some of the biggest cheers along the parade route, from a wide variety of people who remembered the shows and are eager to see them again.

The third place parade ribbon won by the float team for their efforts on behalf of Bonanza and The High Chaparral.
